Dr. Laura Gesicki-Wood completed her Allergy and Clinical Immunology fellowship at the University of Virginia Center for Asthma and Allergy. During her training, she focused on steroid-dependent asthma, chronic sinus disease, and urticaria, while conducting extensive research on eczema.
Prior to her subspecialty training, Dr. Gesicki completed her undergraduate studies as a Howard Hughes Fellow at the University of Virginia, earning a B.A. in both Biology and English. She was then accepted into the University of Virginia Medical School on full scholarship, where she later completed her lnternal Medicine residency.
Dr. Gesicki is a board certified physician. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. She has presented her research on eczema at national meetings. Her clinical interests include eczema, asthma, rhinitis/sinusitis, urticaria, and food and drug allergies.
Dr. Fozdar has been working at the Accredited Allergy Center for the last fifteen years. She earned her medical degree abroad and continued her post-graduate training in Washington, D.C. Dr. Fozdar completed an internship in surgery and a residency in Internal Medicine. She is a board certified physician. Dr. Fozdar is also on the Staff of Alexandria and Fairfax hospitals. She keeps her knowledge current by attending Allergy and Immunology conferences, as well as extended continuing-education courses in Internal Medicine
Teresa has been with the Accredited Allergy Center since 2005. She attended college in Northern California and has been in Medical Administration for nearly 20 years working in neurology, internal medicine and urgent care settings. She brings her expertise in practice management, operations, billing and electronic medical records to the practice.
Carol earned her BSN from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and went on to complete her nursing education at Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Since 1980, Carol has been a part of the Accredited Allergy Center, performing everything from skin testing to extract preparation to administration of immunotherapy injections. She also provides excellent general phone advice. Prior to anchoring our team, Carol worked as a Registered Nurse and as a nursing educator in both pediatrics and medicine/surgery.
Lindsey earned a BSN from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and has been a Registered Nurse for over twenty years. Since 2001, she has been employed at the Accredited Allergy Center, where she performs allergy skin testing, prepares extracts, administers injections, and provides general telephone advice. Prior to joining us, Lindsey worked as a Pediatric nurse in an acute-care setting. She has both Pediatric and Nursery experience.
